The ACEK Young Professionals Forum idea was established in 2014 to promote and empower the development of Young Professionals’ careers in the Consulting Engineering Industry. It gives the passionate Young Engineers a forum to show case their ideas in tackling everyday issues.

It is directed towards individuals in member firms with professionals less than 40 years of age who become. Membership of the YPF is voluntary.

The YPF will be most active during the Annual conferences with the Association of Consulting Engineers in Kenya.

Members of the YPF will be involved in participation in FIDIC and GAMA Conferences.

MWANGI KENNEDY KIUNGA

Mwangi Kennedy Kiunga is a roads design engineer with Howard Humphreys Ltd. He holds a BEng in Civil Engineering from The University of Nottingham (UK) and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Project Management at Kenyatta University (Kenya)

He has over 3 years’ experience and has been involved in carrying out feasibility studies for various projects, preliminary and detailed engineering designs, preparation of tender documents and other tender activities, Contract administration for infrastructure development and rehabilitation projects related to rural and urban roads.

WINNIE GICHURU

Winfred Gichuru is a roads design engineer with GIBB Africa LTD and holds a BSc. in Civil Engineering degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). She has over 8 years of experience in Engineering and Infrastructure Development. She is has been involved in various road and infrastructure development projects where she has been responsible for the design and supervision of construction work.

She has been involved in providing technical assistance and carrying out feasibility studies for various projects, detailed engineering design, preparation of tender Processing and Administration, Site Management and Contract administration, Road Safety, Supervision and Monitoring, Quality Control for infrastructure development and rehabilitation projects related to rural and urban roads, highways, irrigation and railway.

  8. To Visit universities to market the profession of consulting engineering to engineering undergraduates.
