1) 06th-07th July 2015 - Practical use of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract (1999 Plant and Design Build Contract and 2008 Design Build and Operate Projects)
2) 08th -09th July 2015 -Practical use of the 1999 FIDIC Conditions of Contract (EPC /Turnkey Projects/ Operation and Maintenance)
3) 10th July 2015 - EPCM (Management of Design & Build for Consultants)
Ensuring Clients, Consultants, Contractors, Legal Advisers, etc. have confidence in working with FIDIC Contracts documents which are the international Language in the construction industry
FIDIC Conditions of Contract are increasingly used by the international construction Industry throughout the world.
The Three courses have been designed to offer a complete and effective understanding and application of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract and the management of contract claims. While the Module on Design & Build addresses in particular all those who are either involved in the procurement of Contracts based on FIDIC Design Build forms of Contract, Module on EPC/Turnkey addresses all those who are either involved in the procurement and the use of Contracts based on the FIDIC Silver Book.
All delegates will be provided the following materials, in English:
- FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design Build 1999 Edition (The Yellow Book);
- FIDIC Conditions of Contract for EPC/Turnkey Projects, 1999 Edition (The Silver Book);
- Client/Consultant Model Services Agreement 2006 (White Book)
- Schedule of overheads/Work exercises; and
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The courses provide the necessary knowledge for, and targets, professionals from Government Ministries and its Agencies, Private Sector Employers, Consulting Engineers, Contractors, Quantity Surveyors and Architects, Legal Advisers in the construction sector, and ALL those involved with the implementation and management of large Works Contracts.
The courses are regarded by FIDIC as providing part of the appropriate training for any person wishing to apply to the National Adjudicators’ lists of FIDIC the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Dispute Adjudicators.
The tutor is Dr. Goetz-Sebastian Hoek. He is highly qualified and experienced in the use of FIDIC Contracts and has been involved in various infrastructure projects in Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia and Europe. Dr. Hoek is a specialist in International Contract Law, Construction law and International Litigation. He is an Arbitrator, Adjudicator and is listed in the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Dispute Adjudicators. His publications include translations (into German and French) of FIDIC Conditions of Contract (Red, Yellow and Pink Books) and ‘’Relationship between FIDIC Conditions of Contract and public procurement law - reliability of Tender Documents’’’. Dr. Hoek is a law lecturer and senior partner of Rechtwalt, a law firm in Berlin
Delegate fee for course number 1 is KES 104,000, course number 2 is KES 104,000 and it is payable in advance. The fee is inclusive of course materials, accommodation, refreshments, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Delegate fee for Course number 3 is KES 43,000 which includes course material, refreshments and Lunch.
Registration and payment of fees closes on 19th June, 2015.
Cancellations: Cancellations by delegates must be made in writing and received 10 days before the seminar. It is regretted that no refunds will be made or invoices cancelled after this date and the full Registration fee will be payable. Substitutions may be made at any time.
Cancellation by organizers: Organizers reserve the right to cancel the event if it is under subscribed or for any other unforeseen reason. In the event of cancellation delegates will be given two weeks’ notice and the fee will be refunded in full. Organizers will not be held liable for any pre booked travel.
