FIDIC Conditions of Contract are increasingly used by the international construction Industry throughout the world. The two courses have been designed to offer a complete and effective understanding and application of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract and the management of contract claims.
While Module 1 course provides a practical guide to understanding and use of the 1999 FIDIC Conditions of Contract and Multi-lateral Development Banks Harmonized Conditions of Contract, Module 4 is designed to help participants have confidence in working with FIDIC documents as project Managers and Contract Administrators
All delegates will be provided the following materials, in English:
• FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction 1999 Edition (The Red Book);
• FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant & Design – Build, 1999 Edition (The Yellow Book);
• Schedule of overheads/Work exercises; and
• Notes on changes incorporated in the MDB’s Harmonized Construction Contract
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The courses provide the necessary knowledge for, and targets, professionals from Government Ministries and its Agencies, Private Sector Employers, Consulting Engineers, Contractors, Quantity Surveyors and Architects, Legal Advisers in the construction sector, and ALL those involved with the implementation and management of large Works Contracts.
The courses are regarded by FIDIC as providing part of the appropriate training for any person wishing to apply to the National Adjudicators’ lists of FIDIC the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Dispute Adjudicators.
The tutor is Dr. Goetz-Sebastian Hoek. He is highly qualified and experienced in the use of FIDIC Contracts and has been involved in various infrastructure projects in Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia and Europe. Dr. Hoek is a specialist in International Contract Law, Construction law and International Litigation. He is an Arbitrator, Adjudicator and is listed in the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Dispute Adjudicators. His publications include translations (into German and French) of FIDIC Conditions of Contract (Red, Yellow and Pink Books) and ‘’Relationship between FIDIC Conditions of Contract and public procurement law - reliability of Tender Documents’’’. Dr. Hoek is a law lecturer and senior partner of Rechtwalt, a law firm in Berlin
Delegate fee is 83,600 (KES per course and it is payable in advance. The fee is inclusive of refreshments, course materials and lunch. Delegates who register and pay registration fee by 23rd October 2014 delegate fee is 79,200 (KES). A delegate who registers for both courses will pay a total of 149,600 (KES)
Organizations that sponsor more than 5 delegates will be given a discount of 10%
Registration and payment of fees closes on 12th November 2014.
Cancellations: Cancellations by delegates must be made in writing and received 10 days before the seminar. It is regretted that no refunds will be made or invoices cancelled after this date and the full Registration fee will be payable. Substitutions may be made at any time.
Cancellation by organizers: Organizers reserve the right to cancel the event if it is under subscribed or for any other unforeseen reason. In the event of cancellation delegates will be given two weeks’ notice and the fee will be refunded in full. Organizers will not be held liable for any pre booked travel or accommodation costs.
